Jess Cohen founded Schoolwide, Inc. in 1993 and has served as its President and Chief Operating Officer for 16 years. Under Jess's leadership Schoolwide has grown from a diminutive book distributor operating out of a home basement into a leading provider of educational products and services to schools, school districts, and teachers. Today Schoolwide operates four successful divisions reaching more than 2 million educators in all 50 states. Most recently Jess spearheaded Schoolwide's launch of two web sites, Teacherwide.com and Schoolwideonline.com, as well as Schoolwide's Curriculum Publication Division, which developed Schoolwide's Writing and Testing Fundamentals Programs. In the 2007-2008 school year, sales from these divisions grew an astonishing 600 percent.
Raised by two New York City Public School teachers Arnold and Robin Cohen, Jess has been surrounded by teachers his entire life. He is a graduate of Columbia University's class of 1992 and is an avid sports enthusiast and fan. Jess and his wife Rory Cohen, also a career educator, live in Long Island, New York, with their three children Kyle, Zachary, and Raya.
