Making Connections

The connections we make to a text have a great impact on how we understand it.  Helping students value the ways in which they connect to the characters, situations, settings and story development is an important part of teaching comprehension.

When introducing this thinking strategy, we choose books with characters and stories to which students will quickly relate. Check some of our titles and accompanying reading comprehension lessons.
