Akilah has worked in education for over a decade as a teacher, coach, curriculum writer, and professional development facilitator. Having led teams in a variety of grades at the elementary level, she has a keen understanding of vertical alignment and possible trajectories for student growth. Her love for teaching and commitment to high-quality public education influence her to seize opportunities for development; she will always consider herself a learner and collaborator. Akilah earned a BA in Government from Hamilton College and an MA in Education from Hunter College. She brings energy, passion, and an open mind to Schoolwide.
