Kitty Llerandi

Kitty Llerandi brings over two decades of successful teaching experience in Chicago-area schools to her work for Schoolwide. She holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Elementary Education and Psychology from Lake Forest College and a Master of Education degree from the Writing Program at National-Louis University. During her years of classroom teaching, Kitty also enjoyed mentoring and collaborating with fellow educators on building best practices in literacy instruction, classroom management techniques, innovative uses of technology, and promoting student agency. She supervised student teachers and interns and counseled refugee families. Kitty is committed to fostering a love for reading and writing in learners of all ages and backgrounds. As part of the Schoolwide team, she is excited to partner with literacy teachers to work on cultivating joyful, collaborative classrooms that empower students to be active participants in their learning journeys. Beyond her passion for teaching, reading, and writing, Kitty enjoys spending time with family and friends, practicing yoga, knitting, and open-water swimming.
